Mistletoe Was Her ‘Soul Dog’ ❤
“The moment we saw Mistletoe on the ARF website, we fell in love with her. Her wonderful ears, loving eyes, and a head bigger than her body. We knew instantly she was meant to come home to us,” says adopter, Nikka.
Sweet Mistletoe had a liver condition; a portosystemic shunt. Her liver couldn’t filter out toxins properly and was given a six-month life expectancy, but that didn’t deter Nikka from adoption. She was even more determined to give Mistletoe all the love she could with whatever time this precious corgi mix had left.
Nikka is forever grateful that Mistletoe lived three times longer than expected. “We just enjoyed each moment we had with her. We are so grateful for our ‘little miss’ and for the chance that ARF gave us to find each other — for helping us unite with our soul dog.”
Thanks to your support, Mistletoe got the special care she needed for a longer, happier life. Your donation today will give more animals like Mistletoe a second chance to share the love of a forever family.
Celebrate 31 Years of Saving Lives
When did you first discover ARF? Was it when you adopted a new best friend? Did you attend one of our dog training classes? Maybe you were introduced through a friend who volunteers or fosters. After more than three decades of saving lives and connecting countless hearts, we’re celebrating our first-ever ARF Giving Day on Tuesday, June 14 – our 31st birthday! With a goal of raising $31,000, you can help more than 70 dogs and cats get the second chance they need – from rescue to adoption – and participate in special prize hours when you donate!
So save the date by marking June 14 on your calendar, and get ready for more fun in store on ARF Giving Day. Whether you’ve been a supporter since 1991 or just started this year, thank you for helping us save more than 46,500 animals to date – with many more on the way.
